With the addition of a Men's competition in the 2010 Worlds and talk of pole work reaching the 2012 Olympics, it's not a surprise that men's classes are starting to pop up. The origins of pole work actually take us back to men. Not that they were the ones that decided women should do it, more that they were the ones that started getting competitive jumping and tricking around tall thick poles stuck in the ground. You can take away what you want from that visual. (Check out The History of Pole tab to see a clip) Women elected to make it pretty.

So.....
Very excited to find out about a Coed Pole Workshop hosted this coming August by Slinky Productions in San Francisco. I am very curious to get a little feed back on this one and hopefully some photos to share with all of you. To be quite honest, I can think of a few couples that have been waiting for an opportunity like this! Naturally, details are posted on the Calendar.

I take pole dancing classes from a classically-trained ballet dancer in Denver - she is phenomenal. And in her classes, a guy is learning to pole dance. And he's married, and his wife is fine with it, and the women in the class have pretty much adopted him as one of them. It's beautiful.
